On Wednesday we all went to the Stillwater library for story time, which H&G, Karen and I greatly enjoy. Angie is the children’s librarian who keeps us entertained with a silly-fun mix of singing, dancing and story telling. This program has a special place in my heart as Angie, having noticed Harper’s dialysis tube way back when, always went out of her way to include her in the activities.When Harper and I first started going to story time she always wanted to sit in my lap, but then after her first hospitalization, suddenly she was in the front row with her eyes wide open.
Last week Angie sang Old McDonald with a surprise verse: on his farm he had a … dinosaur! At the time he didn’t really say anything, but this tickled Gus’s funny bone and he’s been singing the song all week and giggling every time at “dinosaur.”
After story time and after we pick out books, we usually make it a point to go to the top floor of the library and run around. On the patio we found paths had been cleared in the snow so the kids romped around and had fun finding the bridge and churches. The simplest things ….
