With Karen’s Uncle Tom’s recent passing I wanted to share the photos I had taken as well as photos Karen’s dad took. I always found Tom to be a class act. He had a great sense of humor and his jokes were usually about himself and his wonderful family. Tom’s niece, Dee Dee shared a happy image to hold onto: When the priest came to give him the last rites, Tom seemed to be sleeping, but at the very end as the priest was blessing him, he opened his eyes and sang all the verses of “Yankee Doodle.”
His love of family and the care he showed for his sisters, was most impressive.
