Took our morning constitutional along the ocean—such a nice way to start the day! Since this is our last full day we just wanted to stay home and be by the ocean. After a quick dip, we just read on the beach. I started a book about FDR, “The Man He Became.” The gist (I think) is how his polio helped him become the person to lead the US out of the Depression and through most of WWII.
I haven’t had time (somehow?!) to experiment with my new camera using the sports setting to take fast whale photos. But today I did get a few whale breaches, though they were a ways out. No sunset pictures tonight as dense clouds settled in around 5:00 p.m..
Eric gave me some ideas of Maui Brewing beers to bring for condo pupus last night. They were a hit, with the HI IPA the clear taste test winner. I finished off the last of the beer with supper 🙂
Saw the Coast Guard ship go by very slowly tonight. The only other time I have seen them around our condo was a few years ago when a snorkeler went missing and they were out searching for him. I’m not sure why they were in our area today.
Unless we have an exceptional morning of whale watching from our lanai tomorrow this will be my last post for this year from Maui. We have our dates set (all of February) for next year. Please come over and visit. Karen will have drinks and dinner waiting for you at sunset!
