Maui 2015: Day 12

Maui: my favorite place to be on Valentine’s Day! In the last eight years I think we’ve missed only one Maui February 14th. T-r-a-d-i-t-i-o-n!

But before the romantic stuff, I had to check on John and John Jr as they mixed cement for the last stairway repair. Then Richard, Judy, Karen and I drove to Mama’s Fish house for lunch. I love this place! In my humble opinion, this restaurant has the best food and is the most beautiful restaurant in the most gorgeous setting. The place is perfect, so that’s where I want to take my bride on this special day.

Karen and I both had the freshly caught onaga, a type of red snapper (the menu at Mama’s gives you the name of the fisherperson who caught the fish and where it was caught).

We ended our Valentine’s festivities with a Willy K and Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom concert at the Sheraton Maui; a small venue and our seats were in the second row. Karen and I have seen them in concert many times but this was a first for Richard and Judy. I know Richard really enjoyed the music, as did we, as well as their cultural story telling. A perfect end to a perfect day.
