Maui 2015: Day 13

On Sunday the rain was the heaviest I’ve ever seen in Hawaii. The waves washed up a lot of sticks on our beach, probably ended up in the sea from the run-off.

Finally! We had lunch at one of my favorite places: Hula Grill. A little hiccough up at start with Richard and Judy about where we were having lunch, but when they did arrive, we had arranged with our server to bring them a Maui Cruiser (fresh pineapple, orange, guava and passion fruit juices with mango and strawberry puree) as soon as they were seated. The fish is always very good here and the ocean view is beautiful.

For dinner Karen made a pulled pork taco salad that Richard and I thought was out of this world. Karen made it with pork shoulder and the condo smelled scrumptious all afternoon as it braised away.I had a small mishap at sunset blowing the conch shell (which means I tried a different conch shell and it sounded pathetic) but I quickly recovered and did a nice job with the other shell. Judy wanted to wade in the ocean, so after sunset and before dinner, we headed down to our beach so she could get her feet wet.
