Maui 2015: Day 22
Wow! Excitement in our little condo today! A guy power-paragliding offshore, flying between Lanai and Molokai. Then he disappeared. But then there he was again, taking off from our beach!
A lady, who we’ve seen before, loves to collect sea glass and shells in front of our condo. I went down to talk to her and she was delightful, giving me pointers and encouraging me to try. She spends hours at it and says it’s so relaxing. Karen saw an assortment of nets at the local drug store, so I’m going to get one and give it a try. I think Harper and Gus would like anything I might find.
It was Amber’s last full day on Maui so she spent a lot of time in the water, snorkeling and lying on the beach. I was reading on our lanai and Karen was taking a nap. At one point I looked out to check on the whales and saw Amber in the ocean with three green turtles around her. (In case you didn’t know, she’s a turtle whisperer.) They were close and one big guy seemed to be following her.
Around 9:30 pm Amber took a packing break to go down to the ocean to say “aloha.” She said there were a couple of guys fishing with lights high up on their fishing rods. They told her when the lights shook they had a bite.
