Yesterday:
I caught Brian out painting steps. I also tried, for the first time, searching for sea glass in the surf. I didn’t find any but I’m going to keep trying.
Kris and Blair arrived so we had to give them a big aloha welcome with leis. They had a long travel day but with big smiles they immediately started to breathe in Hawaii.
On the way back to our side of the island, we had a dinner place picked out for them to try: Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop. I had the seared ahi (and for Paul H.) it was grilled rye bread, seared fresh sashimi grade tuna, avocado, caramelized Kula onion, jarlsberg cheese, local basil pesto, garlic aioli, watercress. Everyone’s meal was outstanding. Blair raved about the bread.
Today:
Rain in the morning with a double rainbow next to Lanai. We picked up Kris and Blair and had an outdoor breakfast—with POG—at Aloha Mixed Plate. Saw a submarine go by! Cool.
Karen and I are still very much in lo-mo world. Today we walked all the way down to the beach (impressive!) where we read and took a dip in the pool. Late afternoon we got cleaned up and then Kris and Blair walked over for sunset, conch blowing, and dinner. Ten bells!
I love all your posts! Makes me fell like I’m there too. 🙂 Noah was nice enough to babysit for us a few times, and one of our dates was too Leoda’s, delicious!
Toby disagrees with you on the double rainbow. He said “that is just a rainbow missing it’s top”.

Heather you did “GOOD”!!! I still think you would make an outstanding travel agent. On seeing Toby’s comment I think he is right and I was not seeing the top.

Toby, on second (and third and fourth) look, I think you’re right!

Haha, at almost 5 years old Toby thinks he is right about everything… 🙂

Everyone looks so happy and refreshed! It’s hard to believe Kris & Blair are lacking sleep 😉

The tuna sandwhich looks almost as good as the smiles!

It’s wonderful! We wish all our families were here too. I would love to see my grandkids play/swim/surf in the ocean.
