Maui Day 10
Blair was hungry for pie so we headed to Leodas’s Kitchen and Pie Shop, where we all had sandwiches and shared his super-delicious banana cream pie. On our way back we dropped Kris and Karen off in Lahaina so they could shop for gifts. That night I had to take a photo of Kris and Blair’s matching knee wounds (Kris from a fall in the street and Blair from some coral).
Maui Day 11
Kris wanted to try snorkeling (a challenge thrown down by Toby) in a protected bay, so we packed up a cooler and water and fruit and chairs and towels and umbrellas and drove to Kapalua Bay, the most protected bay we know. Unfortunately, the red flag was out (see below). But Kris did not let a few hard wave hits stop her from keeping her promise to Toby. She sure earned her chocolate covered macadamia nuts. While we were there, I texted Zanna a photo of the bay and she sent back a text of the kids snuggled in a chair in our condo (they’re having a condo sleepover so Eric and his buddies can have a card playing night at their house).
Red Flags: warn swimmers of serious hazards in the water. One red flag means the surf is high and/or there are dangerous currents. Though you can still swim if there is a red flag, you should use extreme caution and go in the water only if you’re a strong swimmer.
Every day looks like fun, and everyone looks so happy!

Toby likes that Grandma got a treat after snorkeling and hopes she saw the Hawaiian Spotted Toby fish.
And I agree with Beth, I love that everyone is happy with big smiles.
