Kris gave us our marching orders today, “I do not want to kill time waiting to fly home late tonight.” I’m pretty sure we did good, starting with the Kahului Saturday Maui Flea Market. We found treasures and snacks (including Kris and Blair’s first Shave Ice).
I was on the lookout for a new iPhone cover but had given up finding one when Karen yelled, “look” and not only was there just the right cover, but it had been made by Rachel, a woman we met years ago at an upcountry art galley. She said she and her husband now have their own gallery (http://www.rachaelrayartcollection.com)
and she is doing her own art. Visiting her gallery is now on our must-do list.
Karen has wanted to get huli huli chicken from the huli huli chicken guy for two years and we just haven’t been able to time it right (he’s only at the roadside stand on Saturdays, weather permitting, from 11:00 until the chicken runs out). But with careful planning we got it right this time and picked some up for lunch—it was very, very good. Then a final swim in the pool and a very calm ocean (Kris said it felt like a baptism) before they packed up their car and headed to the airport.
A hui hou, Kris and Blair!
I like the phone cover David!
