For us it is our slo-mo routines: make coffee, eat breakfast, walk, watch whales/turtles, lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, swim, read, embrace our sunset rituals, dine by candlelight, shower, and hop into bed. Repeat. We may do a few chores, like pick up supplies at Maui Coffee (and check out the history of the sugar cane business).
The other day we had lunch (again) at Maui Brewing, as Karen loves their tater tots (I love their logo with the latitude and longitude), when in walks a friend of Karen’s who lives a block away from us at home!
For sunset, Karen has resurrected her gin & POG drink for us. And my contribution is—always—blowing the conch shell. I have to say, with all due modesty, I do have my admirers!
There are so many fun places to go in the midst of a lazy day! What is the big wheel?

It was part of the surger cane production. I will send you a phot0 showing the wheel in use and information on the production process. The last harvest of sugar cane on Maui was a few months ago.

AHHHH….There’s nothing like having mai tai at HK at sunset while David blows on the conch shell. Aloha, my friend.

Aloha Saundra! Karen uses POG. POG is a beverage sold in Hawaii that is a mix of pineapple, orange and guava juice.
